Alpha14 Property Group are keen to announce our childcare development in Chadstone! The new 104-place Childcare Centre will be two-storey and will feature on-site car parking. Ellis Architects are our appointed architects who have extensive experience with childcare, as well as a diverse portfolio of projects, both nationally and internationally.
About Chadstone Childcare
Chadstone Childcare is in the residential area of Chadstone, located at 427 Huntingdale Road and 24 Nyrang Street. It is approximately 18.8km north-west of Melbourne’s CBD, 100m from Waverly road, 500m from the Monash Freeway, and a 10-minute drive to Chadstone Shopping Centre. The site is also in close proximity to the 767 and 623 bus routes, and is approximately 1km from Jordanville train station.
Chadstone Childcare will positively contribute to the broader Chadstone area in its function. Council have forecasted a growth in population in the area by 25.55% from 2020-2041, so the 104-place centre will sufficiently meet the growing demand for early learning centres over the coming years. Its position in a residential area allows it to be easily accessible to parents who live close by, and also for those who use the Monash Freeway and Waverley Road in their daily commute. Chadstone Childcare’s location and size is therefore well-placed service the local community and will enhance the growing municipality.
Site Accessibility
Subject to the current plans, Chadstone Childcare Centre’s built form compromises of one building with two levels. The building provides ample space for the 104 children to play and socialize, as it consists of 735sqm of outdoor space and 735sqm of indoor space. All children’s rooms have direct access to external areas and all internal areas have substantial amounts of natural light flowing in. The building is also highly accessible, as the northern part of the site is accessed via Nyrang Street and will be the building’s carpark. The carpark consists of 22 parking spaces, and also provides direct access to the centre’s main entry. Its main entry is also accessed via pedestrian access on Huntingdale Road, providing an active presence to its frontage. Close to the pedestrian access to the main entry will also be a disabled car park. Chadstone Childcare Centre is therefore highly accessible for those driving and for those walking.
Greenery
To maintain Chadstone’s aesthetic greenery and to protect neighbouring properties, the site will retain 14 trees along the site’s boundaries. To soften the built form, planter beds will be planted along a large portion of the boundaries, and new trees are proposed to be planted along the Huntingdale Road frontage and the boundaries of neighbouring properties. Within the site, there will be extensive shrubbery planted for safe outdoor play for children, further adding to the centre’s provision of greenery. The retention and planting of greenery along the boundaries softens the centre’s built form and allows it to integrate well with the surrounding green residential area. Chadstone Childcare Centre therefore protects and maintains the broader Chadstone aesthetic.
